from the Airport:
Take Metrolink
The Metrolink stations (link to schedule) are on the upper level near the entrance to B, C, and D concourses, and at the East Terminal where Southwest Airlines flighst arrive. There is a vending machine to purchase a ticket for $3.75. Regular fares are $2.25 if purchased at any other station, but our considerate local government decided to tax incoming visitors.
Board the metrolink (it only goes in one direction from the
Main terminal) and take the train to the Central West End station.
The trip takes 21 minute and trains depart around every 10-15
minutes depending on the time of day. At Central West End station,
go up the stairs to street level. You'll be on Euclid avenue.
Turn left and
and continue past the Farrell Learning and Teaching center on a until you get to a large entrance on your left
(660 S. Euclid avenue is the formal address).
When you enter there will be a desk in front of you ( you can
ask for directions at the desk if someone is there) or follow mine.
As you enter 660 S. Euclid, the security desk
will be in front of you, the entrance to the Medical School Library
on your right and a double clear glass door is also facing you
on the right side of the desk. Go through that set of doors and
take a right. Walk 10 yards or so and take the first left. 50
yards or so down that hall way (a court yard is on your right
at this point), the hall open up into a lobby area on your right,
and 4 sets of elevators on your left. Take anyone of those elevators
to the ninth floor. The lab is on the North half of the building
on the West side. The room number is 958McDonnell.
by car:
Exit highway 40 (interstate 64) 4 miles West of Downtown Saint Louis at the Kingshighway North (exit 36A). Take a right at the first light ( Barnes Hospital will be across the street on your left after you have turned. Continue to the end of the street and take a right on Euclid to the stop sign. Look for parking. On your right is an entrance to a set of meters on street level - up to two hrs 25c for 20 minutes (don't try to enter the underground parking garage). Alternatively, turn left onto McKinley and look for meters on McKinley. McDonnel Sciences building will be on your left when you reach the stop sign on this street. If you can't find parking on McKinley, turn right on Taylor at the end of the block and then left at the stop sign (clayton). Enter the Clayton parking structure on your left. Parking is $5.00 for the whole day. Note that you must leave by 7 pm. Exit the parking garage and walk back to the McDonnell Sciences building.
